By Thibaut Meurisse

The turning point in my life was when I realized that there was only one thing preventing me from getting everything I want out of life.

That one thing was:
My mindset. Once I got that, my life took a whole different turn. And your life could too. The truth is that your mind is the most powerful tool ever created? But are you using it to its full capacity?

Because you can either:
Use your mind to consciously design the life of your dream
Wander mindlessly through life not understanding why you aren’t where you want to be. Which case applies to you?

Now, let me share with you what you can do to start designing the life you want using your the eight superpowers of your mind.

1. The power of belief.
Every single building, bridge, chair, table, computer or piece of furniture is the results of a thought that was believed for long enough to manifest in the real world. For something to exist, someone somewhere must have the intent to create it. You have within you the ability to create a new reality by using the power of belief. Keep focusing your thoughts on something you really want. Soon enough, your actions will change progressively turning your thoughts into reality.

2. The power of intent
Why do you read this article? What is your intent? Most people go through life without any clear intent. They wake up in the morning with no clear intent. They go to work with no clear intent. As a result, they end up wasting their time and accomplishing far less than they’re capable of. You have the power to set a clear intent. Whenever you do something ask yourself? What’s my intent here? What am I trying to do? The more you take control of your intent, the better results you’ll get in life.

3. The power of clarity
What do you want? Where do you want to live? How much money do you want to make? What lifestyle do you want? Clarity is power. You can’t aim at a target that doesn’t exist. Sadly, most people have no clear goals. The more clarity you have, the better you’ll be able to leverage both the power of belief and the power intent to make your goals and dreams a reality.

4. The power of choice
No. You’re not a powerless creature who need politicians to save you. You have the power to choose. At any time, you can decide to make different decisions that will change the course of your life. It’s only when you accept you’re 100% responsible for your life that you can start changing it. Whether or not you’re conscious of it, you’re making choices every day.

•    You choose to wake up early or late.
•    You choose to watch TV or to work on your side business
•    You choose to eat healthily or to eat junk food
•    You choose to educate yourself or to watch Netflix
•    You choose to focus on the positive or to dwell on the negative.
•    You choose to set specific goals or to wander through life aimlessly

5. The power of repetition
Do you remember the first time you drove a car? You felt overwhelmed, didn’t you? But what happened next? By practicing again and again it becomes effortless. That’s the power of repetition. Through repetition, you can transfer any task or skill to your subconscious mind making you look as if you had some kind of superpower. You can learn anything you want. Just practice!

6. The power of conditioning
I have bad news. You’ve been programmed! Most of the beliefs you currently hold are not actually yours. These beliefs were planted in your mind by your parents, society, the media, your teacher or your friends. And many of them don’t benefit you. They don’t support you in living the life of your dreams. The good news is that you have the power to reprogram your mind. Through daily practice, you can learn to be more grateful, more decisive or more confident for instance.

7. The power of patience
Anything of value takes time. Quality relationships take years to mature. A fulfilling career takes years to develop. And any major goal you have right now will take years of hard work as well. Don’t give up prematurely because you didn’t get the results you wanted. If it is what you really want, stick to it! Focus your intent on it every single day and work on it. Patience is real power. Don’t underestimate it.

Remember that success is a very chaotic process, with ups and downs. Small successes are followed by major setbacks. And major setbacks often lead to important breakthroughs.

8. The power of perseverance
Your ability to persevere will largely determine your level of success in life. Set a deadline for your major goal and resolve to spend most of your time working on it. Never give up. Keep working on it even if the entire world around you is collapsing. For any goal that matters to you, use the power of perseverance. You’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish with it.

Cultivate these eight superpowers every day and you’ll be well on your way to achieving your goals and dreams.

Finally, remember to be patient and to never give up.

Zig Zigler - Far too many people...

For the Martyr in YOU!

‘We create stress for ourselves because you feel like you have to do it.

You have to.

I don’t feel like that anymore.’

~ Oprah Winfrey

(Come on, don’t be cynical, her millions of dollars may help,  but they weren’t there when she first changed her mind-set.)

So what self-imposed stresses are you dumping on yourself at this moment in time?

And maybe more to the point, why put yourself through being a martyr?

You may not believe it for now, but you really can limit the negative stresses of life if you would only give yourself a flipping break and listen to the person who knows you best, YOU.  And what’s more these changes can last.

Okay you might not be in the mood right now to agree, but lets ask a few probing questions and see how you respond inside… ready?

Why are you continuing to do what you’ve always done and expect different results to miraculously appear?

Why are you doing work you no longer enjoy but feel compelled to do it?

Why are you stuck in an unloving relationship that makes you feel like a second class citizen? Why are you putting up with the frosty silence, rejection after rejection and constant put downs? Are you waiting for a sudden glimpse of love to string you along for another week; for now and then it does it appear.

It’s okay, you don’t have to tell me anything, I’m just pleased you’re still reading, after all, the mirror says more than enough every time you dare to make eye contact with yourself.

Unfortunately you feel alone and even more unfortunate you are not ready to change a damn thing with your life. You will continue to tolerate, endure and hope life will improve eventually; that job you want, the pay rise and loving relationship will all turn up if you just endure the stress for a few more months, that’s all it will take… just a few more months!

You know you’re lying to yourself, and that’s fine if it helps, all it means is that you simply haven’t reached rock bottom, yet. You still feel you have to keep up the pretence of being happy, after all everyone else is right? The continuing barrage of ‘happy selfies and happy couples’ pics on social media prove it!

Let me just state the bloody obvious, you really are kidding yourself if you believe denying yourself happiness and enduring a poor quality of life is the key to future happiness. I am living proof that major life changes can work out for the best, though it represents the most painful of experiences you will have to face. And I am also the first to defer instant gratification and endure a little more hardship for a bigger return. But sometimes you have to face the truth, if after years of working at a job, relationship or certain skill you’re still undervalued, unappreciated and incompetent, then it’s time to call it a day!

The sad truth is…

you’ve conformed, you’re suffering from ‘have-to-itis’, there I’ve said it, someone had to tell you!

You feel you have to do this you have to do that and you have to endure years of unhappiness. And so the pattern continues; the stress builds and builds, the debts mount and mount, alcohol feels like a solution and becomes a crutch to lean on, though it eases the pain for another day of conformity. Yet the martyr in you remains justified and resilient.

I started writing this piece to lift your spirits and fill your day with my usual positive vibe, but as I type I seemed to have strayed from my earlier preparation as I feel the nagging pain of those still stuck in a life they feel compelled to live, one where tiptoeing safely to death seems to be the only viable option.

So what is the solution?

I think I hear you mutter under your breath. Well, my diagnosis at this moment in time is… there isn’t one for you. Sorry. But come on did you really I think I can help you find your own truth. Only you know YOU.

Let’s face it, you’ve yet to reach rock bottom and more frustratingly YOU probably enjoy the wanting of a new life far more than having one.

As strange as it may sound you seem to prefer the rush of endorphins – the internal drug cocktail – that is released when you want something, to the set which is released when you achieve something! Which I guess is understandable, as change is bloody scary and your little martyr voice urges you to persist!

Of course there is hope, there always is. But you have to be ready mentally and you have to want it more than anything else in life. And until that moment when you recognise the martyr in you is actually crying out for help, and wants nothing more than to hand over responsibility and ownership of your life back to YOU, things won’t change.

Now maybe you will continue your day as much as you did yesterday and the day before. But lets just say, that maybe together we have scratched a scar that has started itching. And that itch needs a itching, right 🙂 Well if that’s the case please reach out to my friend Joe Barnes, author, speaker and life coach, he is far more qualified than me to guide you away from the path of martyrdom and onto freedom. Either dip straight into his book, Escape The System, sign up to his newsletter or join him on FaceBook. Whatever you do please do something today, that’s the key, do it now! You will never know where one little itch can lead 🙂

And finally…

remember always, you are not on this earth to be the torturer of your own mind, you are not here to merely exist, you have as much right as anyone else to be what you want to be.

You are Conqueror of your world. Now listen to your heart.

The Strangest Secret

Just read this article by the great Earl Nightingale and felt that I must share it with you. Enjoy. ~ Mark Weeks

The Strangest Secret Article by: Earl Nightingale

Transcribed from The Strangest Secret audio program by Earl Nightingale

Some years ago, the late Nobel prize-winning Dr. Albert Schweitzer was asked by a reporter, “Doctor, what’s wrong with men today?” The great doctor was silent a moment, and then he said, “Men simply don’t think!”

It’s about this that I want to talk with you. We live today in a golden age. This is an era that humanity has looked forward to, dreamed of, and worked toward for thousands of years. We live in the richest era that ever existed on the face of the earth … a land of abundant opportunity for everyone.

However, if you take 100 individuals who start even at the age of 25, do you have any idea what will happen to those men and women by the time they’re 65? These 100 people believe they’re going to be successful. They are eager toward life, there is a certain sparkle in their eye, an erectness to their carriage, and life seems like a pretty interesting adventure to them.

But by the time they’re 65, only one will be rich, four will be financially independent, five will still be working, and 54 will be broke and depending on others for life’s necessities.

Only five out of 100 make the grade! Why do so many fail? What has happened to the sparkle that was there when they were 25? What has become of the dreams, the hopes, the plans … and why is there such a large disparity between what these people intended to do and what they actually accomplished?

First, we have to define success and here is the best definition I’ve ever been able to find: “Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.”

A success is the school teacher who is teaching because that’s what he or she wants to do. A success is the entrepreneur who start his own company because that was his dream and that’s what he wanted to do. A success is the salesperson who wants to become the best salesperson in his or her company and sets forth on the pursuit of that goal.

A success is anyone who is realizing a worthy predetermined ideal, because that’s what he or she decided to do … deliberately. But only one out of 20 does that! The rest are “failures.”

Rollo May, the distinguished psychiatrist, wrote a wonderful book called Man’s Search for Himself, and in this book he says: “The opposite of courage in our society is not cowardice … it is conformity.” And there you have the reason for so many failures. Conformity and people acting like everyone else, without knowing why or where they are going.

We learn to read by the time we’re seven. We learn to make a living by the time we’re 30. Often by that time we’re not only making a living, we’re supporting a family. And yet by the time we’re 65, we haven’t learned how to become financially independent in the richest land that has ever been known. Why? We conform! Most of us are acting like the wrong percentage group and the 95 who don’t succeed.

Have you ever wondered why so many people work so hard and honestly without ever achieving anything in particular, and why others don’t seem to work hard, yet seem to get everything? They seem to have the “magic touch.” You’ve heard people say, “Everything he touches turns to gold.” Have you ever noticed that a person who becomes successful tends to continue to become more successful? And, on the other hand, have you noticed how someone who’s a failure tends to continue to fail?

The difference is goals. People with goals succeed because they know where they’re going. It’s that simple. Failures, on the other hand, believe that their lives are shaped by circumstances … by things that happen to them … by exterior forces.

Think of a ship with the complete voyage mapped out and planned. The captain and crew know exactly where the ship is going and how long it will take and it has a definite goal. And 9,999 times out of 10,000, it will get there.

Now let’s take another ship and just like the first and only let’s not put a crew on it, or a captain at the helm. Let’s give it no aiming point, no goal, and no destination. We just start the engines and let it go. I think you’ll agree that if it gets out of the harbor at all, it will either sink or wind up on some deserted beach and a derelict. It can’t go anyplace because it has no destination and no guidance.

It’s the same with a human being. However, the human race is fixed, not to prevent the strong from winning, but to prevent the weak from losing. Society today can be likened to a convoy in time of war. The entire society is slowed down to protect its weakest link, just as the naval convoy has to go at the speed that will permit its slowest vessel to remain in formation.

That’s why it’s so easy to make a living today. It takes no particular brains or talent to make a living and support a family today. We have a plateau of so-called “security.” So, to succeed, all we must do is decide how high above this plateau we want to aim.

Throughout history, the great wise men and teachers, philosophers, and prophets have disagreed with one another on many different things. It is only on this one point that they are in complete and unanimous agreement and the key to success and the key to failure is this:

This is The Strangest Secret! Now, why do I say it’s strange, and why do I call it a secret? Actually, it isn’t a secret at all. It was first promulgated by some of the earliest wise men, and it appears again and again throughout the Bible. But very few people have learned it or understand it. That’s why it’s strange, and why for some equally strange reason it virtually remains a secret.

Marcus Aurelius, the great Roman Emperor, said: “A man’s life is what his thoughts make of it.”

Disraeli said this: “Everything comes if a man will only wait … a human being with a settled purpose must accomplish it, and nothing can resist a will that will stake even existence for its fulfillment.”

William James said: “We need only in cold blood act as if the thing in question were real, and it will become infallibly real by growing into such a connection with our life that it will become real. It will become so knit with habit and emotion that our interests in it will be those which characterize belief.” He continues, ” … only you must, then, really wish these things, and wish them exclusively, and not wish at the same time a hundred other incompatible things just as strongly.”

My old friend Dr. Norman Vincent Peale put it this way: “If you think in negative terms, you will get negative results. If you think in positive terms, you will achieve positive results.” George Bernard Shaw said: “People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can’t find them, make them.”

Well, it’s pretty apparent, isn’t it? We become what we think about. A person who is thinking about a concrete and worthwhile goal is going to reach it, because that’s what he’s thinking about. Conversely, the person who has no goal, who doesn’t know where he’s going, and whose thoughts must therefore be thoughts of confusion, anxiety, fear, and worry will thereby create a life of frustration, fear, anxiety and worry. And if he thinks about nothing … he becomes nothing.

The human mind is much like a farmer’s land. The land gives the farmer a choice. He may plant in that land whatever he chooses. The land doesn’t care what is planted. It’s up to the farmer to make the decision. The mind, like the land, will return what you plant, but it doesn’t care what you plant. If the farmer plants too seeds and one a seed of corn, the other nightshade, a deadly poison, waters and takes care of the land, what will happen?

Remember, the land doesn’t care. It will return poison in just as wonderful abundance as it will corn. So up come the two plants and one corn, one poison as it’s written in the Bible, “As ye sow, so shall ye reap.”

The human mind is far more fertile, far more incredible and mysterious than the land, but it works the same way. It doesn’t care what we plant … success … or failure. A concrete, worthwhile goal … or confusion, misunderstanding, fear, anxiety, and so on. But what we plant it must return to us.

The problem is that our mind comes as standard equipment at birth. It’s free. And things that are given to us for nothing, we place little value on. Things that we pay money for, we value.

The paradox is that exactly the reverse is true. Everything that’s really worthwhile in life came to us free and our minds, our souls, our bodies, our hopes, our dreams, our ambitions, our intelligence, our love of family and children and friends and country. All these priceless possessions are free.

But the things that cost us money are actually very cheap and can be replaced at any time. A good man can be completely wiped out and make another fortune. He can do that several times. Even if our home burns down, we can rebuild it. But the things we got for nothing, we can never replace.

Our mind can do any kind of job we assign to it, but generally speaking, we use it for little jobs instead of big ones. So decide now. What is it you want? Plant your goal in your mind. It’s the most important decision you’ll ever make in your entire life.

Do you want to excel at your particular job? Do you want to go places in your company … in your community? Do you want to get rich? All you have got to do is plant that seed in your mind, care for it, work steadily toward your goal, and it will become a reality.

It not only will, there’s no way that it cannot. You see, that’s a law and like the laws of Sir Isaac Newton, the laws of gravity. If you get on top of a building and jump off, you’ll always go down and you’ll never go up.

And it’s the same with all the other laws of nature. They always work. They’re inflexible. Think about your goal in a relaxed, positive way. Picture yourself in your mind’s eye as having already achieved this goal. See yourself doing the things you will be doing when you have reached your goal.

Every one of us is the sum total of our own thoughts. We are where we are because that’s exactly where we really want or feel we deserve to be and whether we’ll admit that or not. Each of us must live off the fruit of our thoughts in the future, because what you think today and tomorrow and next month and next year and will mold your life and determine your future. You’re guided by your mind.

I remember one time I was driving through e a s t e r n Arizona and I saw one of those giant earthmoving machines roaring along the road with what looked like 30 tons of dirt in it and a tremendous, incredible machine and and there was a little man perched way up on top with the wheel in his hands, guiding it. As I drove along I was struck by the similarity of that machine to the human mind. Just suppose you’re sitting at the controls of such a vast source of energy. Are you going to sit back and fold your arms and let it run itself into a ditch? Or are you going to keep both hands firmly on the wheel and control and direct this power to a specific, worthwhile purpose? It’s up to you. You’re in the driver’s seat. You see, the very law that gives us success is a doubleedged sword. We must control our thinking. The same rule that can lead people to lives of success, wealth, happiness, and all the things they ever dreamed of and that very same law can lead them into the gutter. It’s all in how they use it … for good or for bad. That is The Strangest Secret!

Do what the experts since the dawn of recorded history have told us to do: pay the price, by becoming the person you want to become. It’s not nearly as difficult as living unsuccessfully.

The moment you decide on a goal to work toward, you’re immediately a successful person and you are then in that rare group of people who know where they’re going. Out of every hundred people, you belong to the top five. Don’t concern yourself too much with how you are going to achieve your goal and leave that completely to a power greater than yourself. All you have to do is know where you’re going. The answers will come to you of their own accord, and at the right time.

Start today. You have nothing to lose and but you have your whole life to win.

For the next 30-days follow each of these steps every day until you have achieved your goal.

1. Write on a card what it is you want more that anything else. It may be more money. Perhaps you’d like to double your income or make a specific amount of money. It may be a beautiful home. It may be success at your job. It may be a particular position in life. It could be a more harmonious family.

Write down on your card specifically what it is you want. Make sure it’s a single goal and clearly defined. You needn’t show it to anyone, but carry it with you so that you can look at it several times a day. Think about it in a cheerful, relaxed, positive way each morning when you get up, and immediately you have something to work for and something to get out of bed for, something to live for.

Look at it every chance you get during the day and just before going to bed at night. As you look at it, remember that you must become what you think about, and since you’re thinking about your goal, you realize that soon it will be yours. In fact, it’s really yours the moment you write it down and begin to think about it.

2. Stop thinking about what it is you fear. Each time a fearful or negative thought comes into your mind, replace it with a mental picture of your positive and worthwhile goal. And there will come a time when you’ll feel like giving up. It’s easier for a human being to think negatively than positively. That’s why only five percent are successful! You must begin now to place yourself in that group.

“Act as though it were impossible to fail,” as Dorothea Brande said. No matter what your goal and if you’ve kept your goal before you every day and you’ll wonder and marvel at this new life you’ve found.

3. Your success will always be measured by the quality and quantity of service you render. Most people will tell you that they want to make money, without understanding this law. The only people who make money work in a mint. The rest of us must earn money. This is what causes those who keep looking for something for nothing, or a free ride, to fail in life. Success is not the result of making money; earning money is the result of success and and success is in direct proportion to our service.

Most people have this law backwards. It’s like the man who stands in front of the stove and says to it: “Give me heat and then I’ll add the wood.” How many men and women do you know, or do you suppose there are today, who take the same attitude toward life? There are millions.

We’ve got to put the fuel in before we can expect heat. Likewise, we’ve got to be of service first before we can expect money. Don’t concern yourself with the money. Be of service … build … work … dream … create! Do this and you’ll find there is no limit to the prosperity and abundance that will come to you.

Don’t start your test until you’ve made up your mind to stick with it. If you should fail during your first 30 days and by that I mean suddenly find yourself overwhelmed by negative thoughts and simply start over again from that point and go 30 more days. Gradually, your new habit will form, until you find yourself one of that wonderful minority to whom virtually nothing is impossible.

Above all … don’t worry! Worry brings fear, and fear is crippling. The only thing that can cause you to worry during your test is trying to do it all yourself. Know that all you have to do is hold your goal before you; everything else will take care of itself.

Take this 30-day test, then repeat it … then repeat it again. Each time it will become more a part of you until you’ll wonder how you could have ever have lived any other way. Live this new way and the floodgates of abundance will open and pour over you more riches than you may have dreamed existed. Money? Yes, lots of it. But what’s more important, you’ll have peace … you’ll be in that wonderful minority who lead calm, cheerful, successful lives.

The Strangest Secret

Now it’s your choice… carry on as before and expect your life to improve or take action, dream and conquer your world?

Only you can change YOU.

Only You can change YOU.

If you think you are beaten, you probably are
If you think you dare not, you probably won’t
If you’d like to win, but think you can’t
it’s almost certain to be true.

If you think you’ll lose, you’ve lost
For out of the world we find
Success begins with in you
It’s YOUR state of mind.

If you think you’re outclassed, you are
You’ve got to think higher to rise
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win such a prize.

Life’s battle don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the one who thinks he can.

You are conqueror of your world.

3 Ways to boost motivation.

Change Your Thinking And Instantly Boost Your Motivation Now!

There’s nobody in the world who can motivate you into doing anything. It’s basically you alone who can motivate yourself to pursue your dreams and succeed.
So, how do you start to motivate yourself in such a way that your only option is to succeed?
You will find plenty of ways to do this once you get the ball rolling. Sometimes the hardest thing is to start, so here’s 3 simple ways how you can spark some motivation to light up your life immediately:
#1 Rid Yourself of Negativity.
The most dangerous thing that you could ever spoon feed your mind with is negativity. It’s too damaging, stressful, and a complete waste of your time.
Yet on the other hand, it’s a lot easier to think negatively than positive. Being disappointed in something can stir up a lot of negative thoughts and doubts, but if you recognise your attitude and nip it in the bud, before it blossoms into whole heap of ”Poor old me’s” you will be doing yourself a great service. Remember it’s your choice to be negative and all it will do is steer you away from your goals. Other than that, negative thinking will drain the life out of you and that’s not just your mental health at risk but your physical health as well.
#2 Take Care of Yourself.
Most of the time it’s easy to neglect the simple things that could motivate ourselves. Personal grooming and health can easily be overlooked which is always a big no. Before you do anything else, be sure to put your personal welfare on top of the list. It’s not being greedy or selfish to care for YOU, but rather giving yourself assurance that if anything goes wrong, you could move on any time. Start exercising, buy yourself some new clothes or a pair of shoes; if that does it for you! Investing in yourself never hurts and it retains motivation. Just don’t overdo it though.
#3 Be Happy!
The most important thing of all is not the money or your career but rather the happiness that you feel each day. Enjoy yourself! That’s a mandatory approach that you should not overlook.
Although pressure and stress may always accompany you, don’t let it hinder happiness. It’s the ultimate incentive that you could get in this life. Motivate yourself through happiness. However you may define it, being happy is one of the most powerful motivational techniques since the existence of man. After all, if you’re living your life without happiness, you’re not living life at all.
Be happy, rid yourself of negativity and take care of yourself. So simple to say but are you actually doing these tasks every day to feel motivated and enjoy the beauty of what life has to offer you?

The 3 Signs of a Good Man – A Must Read for Women and Men

Guest post by Mr. Self Development

Today I want to discuss the 3 signs of a good man.

I’ve received several requests to extend my writing on “success and prosperity” into the arena of successful relationships, so I’m doing a brief series on the subject of relationships over the next week or so.

Timeless Oz.jpg

I’m going to relate this particular article to the movie “The Wizard of Oz.”  If you’ve ever had the luxury of seeing the movie, you know it’s about a girl named Dorothy, and her journey to visit the Wizard (with her dog Toto).  The Wizard is suppose to have the ability to help Dorothy get back to her home in Kansas.

On her way to meet the Wizard, Dorothy runs into three men who need help.  She runs into a scarecrow, a tin man, and a male lion, and she agrees to let them follow her on her journey to see the Wizard.

The scarecrow doesn’t have a brain, the tin man doesn’t have a heart, and the lion, believe it or not, doesn’t have courage.

So we have Dorothy and her dog Toto leading three men; three men who are searching for a brain, a heart, and courage.

Let me repeat that, for those of you who weren’t paying attention, we have three men, being led by a girl and a dog, trying to find a brain, a heart, and courage.

A Brain

Women, the first sign of a good man is that he has a brain.  In other words, he’s astute, judicious, and intelligent; he can think for himself, his actions are not dictated by his friends or his associates.

He possesses the cognitive ability to recognize your importance and see your true value.  He’s smart enough to appreciate you, and intelligent enough to show it.

He’s a visionary; he knows what he’s doing and where he’s going.  He’s a leader; he’s able to handle his responsibilities; he’s able to control himself, his anger, and his nature, in other words, he has a brain.

A Heart

The second sign of a good man is that he has a heart.  Some men are cold, they’re callous and they’re mean.  They don’t feel anything, don’t care about anything, don’t care if you cry, don’t care when you hurt, they are uninterested in the things that you are interested in; your feelings mean “nothing,” they don’t have a heart!

A man “with a heart” is concerned about you, takes an interest in the things that interest you, and prizes you above anyone else.  A man with a heart will spend time with you, because he knows that time is a sign of value.  What people value they dedicate time to.  A good man has a heart.

A man with a heart defers to you, respects your emotions, your feelings and your perspective.  A man with a heart is not intimated by your intelligence, intuition and sensitivity; he understands you and relies on you.

A man with a heart respects his parents, his neighbors and most importantly, a man with a heart respects the women he’s with.

The third sign of a good man is courage.  He has courage in the face of circumstances, challenges and misunderstandings.  He doesn’t quit or shrink, he doesn’t run-out, and he doesn’t give up or back down when things get rough; he has courage.  He has the courage to stay committed to relationships, the courage to make big decisions, and the courage to back his decisions.

He has the courage to change when change is required.

He has the courage to take risk, the courage to pursue his dreams, the courage to love the unlovely, and the courage to do the right thing.

He has the courage to commit to you for a lifetime, the courage to respect you, the courage to protect you, the courage to earn a living, the courage to pursue his passion and the courage to be the man that you desire him to be.

Code of the Conqueror

Excerpt from Code of the Conqueror – the forthcoming book by Mark Weeks. It presents a simple fable, based on simple truths, that far too many of us are eager to ignore until the time is right or too late.

Mount Olympus

‘It has never been done before,’ says Fear scornfully.

‘And?’ Questions the Conqueror.

‘So it will never be done in the future.’

‘You are far too brash,’ chimes in humility, ‘there are names for those such as yourself.’

‘Maybe,’ replies the Conqueror calmly.

‘The place for those with your upbringing must always remain the same, otherwise…’

‘I lived my life long before you all entered it!’

‘You was young and reckless back then. You didn’t know what you was doing,’ Reason abruptly added.

‘Maybe,’ laughed the Conqueror, ‘but I have never lost my child’s heart.’

Sniggering to themselves, Fear, Humility and Reason turn to Father Time, who raises a mirror in line with the Conqueror’s face.

‘Look!’ Shouts Fear. ‘So you think you are still young? Your time has come and gone, you didn’t make the most of your life. You are closer to death than birth you fool.’

Fate suddenly appears and points to the dark looming clouds on the horizon, ‘Now there’s a storm coming, you cannot withstand it. You know in your heart how your story ends.’

‘Yes I do,’ whispers the Conqueror, ‘I am the storm.’

And so the journey begins…
